Care Guide for your Oolio Pay – Verifone GBX Terminals

This guide outlines simple daily practices to ensure reliable performance, prevent downtime, and extend the life of your payment terminals for V660‑P (Mobile) & P630 (Countertop PIN Pad).

1. Daily Handling & Setup

V660‑P (Mobile Terminal with Base)

  • The V660‑P must be kept docked on its charging base whenever not in use
  • The terminal relies on correct contact with the base to charge effectively
  • At the start of each day and throughout service:
    • Check battery %
    • Ensure the device is sufficiently charged
  • If not properly charged, the terminal may:
    • Lose power during service
    • Fail to process transactions
    • Stuck on Verifone screensaver – you will need to reboot the terminal in this instance; stance, this is not a terminal fault this is a charging and payment terminal care issue.

Best practice: Always return the terminal to its base between uses and ensure the device remains clean and aware from liquids.

P630 (Countertop PIN Pad)

  • The P630 is a fixed, cabled device
  • Ensure it remains:
    • Properly connected to power and POS
    • Securely positioned to avoid movement or disconnection

General Environment (Both Devices)

  • Use in indoor, dry environments only

  • Avoid:

    • Heat, dust, humidity, and chemicals

    • Water or outdoor exposure

    • Areas with unstable power or electrical interference

2. Charging & Contact Points (Critical – V660‑P)

  • The V660‑P charges via contact pins on the back of the terminal and charging base

  • These must:

    • Plugged in appropriately

    • Be clean and dry

    • Make full contact when docked

⚠️ Common Issue

If the terminal is:

  • Not seated properly

  • Or contact pins are dirty – this can happen with accidental spills where these are not appropriately cleaned.

Charging may fail or become intermittent

Best practice

  • Always fully dock and align the terminal

Regularly inspect and gently clean contact points

3. Cleaning Your Terminal

Safe Cleaning

  1. Turn off and unplug the terminal
  2. Use a soft microfiber cloth lightly dampened with water
  3. Optional:
    • Small amount of pH-neutral soap
    • OR 70–90% isopropyl alcohol (on cloth only)
  4. Wipe gently – do not scrub
  5. Allow to fully dry before use

⚠️ Important

  • Never spray liquids directly onto the terminal
  • Always apply liquid to the cloth first
  • Ensure any spillage on device is immediately and carefully cleaned – this will impact the device; it is important to care for the device.

🚫 Do Not Use

    • Bleach, peroxide, or harsh chemicals

    • Abrasive cloths or scrubbing

    • Solvents (acetone, thinner, etc.)

    4. Preventing Damage & Tamper Issues

Your terminal includes built-in security protections and may stop working if triggered.

    To avoid issues:

            • Do not drop, knock, or shake the device
            • Avoid exposure to water or spills
            • Keep cables secure and not under strain
            • Do not attempt to open or modify the terminal

                    5. Security & Safe Usage

                    • Keep terminals visible and supervised

                    • Restrict access to authorized staff only

                    • Regularly check:

                      • No unknown cables are attached

                      • Receipts show correct business details

                    • Position devices to protect customer PIN privacy ep terminals visible and supervised

                    6. Verifone V660P Stuck on Verifone Splash Screen

                    Symptoms

                    • Pin pad is stuck on the Verifone logo screen and does not proceed to the payment screen

                      Likely Cause
The pin pad battery is critically low (approximately 1% or less) and does not have sufficient power to complete the boot process.

                      Resolution Steps

Step 1 – Charge the Pin pad ad Directly

                      • Connect a USB-C charger directly to the pin pads USB-C port.

                      • Bypass the docking base to allow the pin pad to charge faster.

                      • Leave the terminal charging for several minutes and then attempt to power it on again.

Step 2 – Check the Docking Base

                        • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the docking base.
                        • Inspect the copper charging pins on both the pin pad and the docking base.
                        • Wipe away any moisture, liquid residue, or dirt from the charging contacts using a clean, dry cloth.
                        • Re-dock the pin pad and confirm that charging is working correctly.

Important: This behavior does not necessarily indicate a bricked terminal. In many cases, the terminal will recover and boot normally once sufficient battery charge has been restored.

                                7. Daily Checklist (Quick Reference)
