This article is your step-by-step guide to setting up your verifone P630 device including power, notifications, navigation and quick settings.
1. Device Overview

2. Charging
Attaching a Cable Connector to the P630-A
The cables first have to be attached to the P630-A. To attach a cable to the terminal, follow the below steps:
- Release the screw.
- Slide out the cable cover.
- Attach the 28-PIN connector of the cable to the terminal.
- Slide in the cable cover.
- Fix the screw.
Turning the terminal on: Press and hold the power button (located on the left-hand side of
the terminal) for approximately 3 seconds until the start-up screen appears.
Turning the terminal off: To shut down the terminal, press and hold the power button for
about 3 seconds, then tap the on-screen ‘Power off’ button. Alternatively, press and hold the
power button for 10 seconds to force the terminal to turn off.
⚠ Important: Ensure the terminal is connected to a power source before attempting to
power it on.
3. Notification and Navigation
Navigation Keys: Use the navigation keys at the bottom of the terminal for quick navigation.

4. Quick settings icons
You can access the Quick Settings panel from any screen (excluding some payment screens).
Swipe down from the Notification bar for quick access to notification cards, settings, and
more. To close the panel, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap the screen below the
panel.
- Tap a quick setting icon to turn that setting on or off
- Touch and hold a quick setting icon to open the setting configuration screen
- Tap the expand icon or drag the panel down to view all quick settings
- In the expanded view, you can use the screen brightness slider at the top of the panel
- to adjust screen brightness
- Tap the setting icon to access the Settings menu
- Tap the Edit icon to add or remove shortcuts to the Quick Settings panel
NOTE: Not all available Android quick setting icons work on your EFTPOS terminal.
On the Quick Settings panel, you can swipe down the list of notification cards to see more
detail about your notifications.
